Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) rights in the UK have come a long way, while in other countries there is still a long and volatile journey ahead. Many Christian interpretations of "proper" gender and family relations often underpin or motivate discriminatory attitudes towards LGBT people, despite Christian Gospel teachings of love and human dignity. This discussion asks: Despite the fraught relationship between Christianity and sexuality, what role might Christians play in fostering equality and more positive attitudes towards LGBTs?
