City of London Fairtrade Group

We’re looking for new members, can you help?

The City of London is proud that the Square Mile has been an accredited Fairtrade Zone since 2007, and had this status renewed in 2015. Read more about this here. In order to uphold this status, the Fairtrade Foundation sets out specific guidelines which Fairtrade Zones must meet. This includes:

  • Ensuring a range of Fairtrade products are easily available in the City’s shops and served in local cafés.

  • Encouraging Fairtrade products are used by a large number of our businesses and community organisations.

  • Organising events, lectures, markets promoting Fairtrade and educating the local community.

  • Hold a local Fairtrade steering group meeting attended by a cross-section of City businesses, educational establishments, faith groups and community/residential representatives. Meetings are held regularly to provide ideas and connections to continuing the growth of Fairtrade products in the City.

JustShare is a member of the City's Fairtrade Group which is chaired by the Revd George Bush, Rector of St Mary-le-Bow Church, and hosted by the City of London Corporation.
